Project Description

Camden Athletic Fields

A.P. Construction was awarded the Camden Athletic Fields project by the City of Camden. After the demolition of the Riversharks minor league baseball stadium, A.P. built a multi-purpose athletic complex in its place.

The new ballpark and field are used by Rutgers-Camden’s NCAA Division III athletes. The park features two-tone synthetic turf, dugouts and a contemporary scoreboard for the Scarlet Raptors. The eight-lane track surrounding the field, where lacrosse, soccer and field hockey teams play, includes areas for pole vault and steeplechase. In addition, there is a clubhouse complete with locker rooms, restrooms and training rooms available to home and visiting teams. The complex includes 26 parking spaces with bike racks and is enhanced with stormwater management.

This sports venue will be used not only by Rutgers-Camden but serve Camden County and Camden City families as a communal space for outdoor activity. The neighboring Camden and Eastside High Schools have access to this state-of-the-art athletic facility.

This general construction project is a worthwhile investment for the City of Camden residents and sports fans who come to relax, cheer or participate in athletic events.
