While many communities throughout the world are approaching their limits of available water supplies, water reclamation and reuse has become a smart alternative for conserving and extending available water supplies. The New Bolton Center (NBC) at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, decided that was the best solution for their 600-acre rural campus in Chester County.

The reclamation project, completed by A.P. Construction, Inc., involved bulk excavation to create two sediment holding cells, 30,000 square feet of liner installation, a pump station, spray irrigation system, influent and effluent piping.

The NBC serves the animal agricultural community and is devoted to the teaching of veterinary medical students and to research, and the home of the George D. Widener Hospital, a world-renowned treatment center for horses.
