Creek Road Bridge
Bellmawr, New Jersey

The Creek Road (I-295) overpass, located in Southern New Jersey, has successfully been replaced approximately one year and four months after a tractor-trailer carrying oversized earth-moving equipment struck and profoundly damaged several steel-reinforced concrete beams supporting the bridge.
A.P. Construction, Inc. was responsible for the complete restoration of the bridge. The project included embedding the deck concrete on each side of the bridge, connecting the beams to the bearing sole plates, linking the units together by installing diaphragms between units, grouting longitudinal joints, and finally sealing the transverse joint at the pier to clasp the edifice in position. A.P. installed prefabricated concrete/steel composite superstructure beams, made by InversetTM, which are the first installed in the state of New Jersey.
