| This bridge project began in
September 2008 and was completed in April of 2009. AP Construction, Inc.
crews performed the demolition and upgrades in coordination with
PATCO and the DRPA to minimize disruptions to normal daily operations. The work details included the removal and replacement of security swing gates at the existing interior openings, the installation of heavy duty armored double doors at the base of the BFB with access ladders. The $1.7 million dollar project ensured a more stalwartly secured
bridge, to ward off access against future possible random acts of violence.
