PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Recently, A.P. Construction, Inc. completely renovated the Philadelphia Youth Study Center (YSC), a juvenile detention facility in the state of Pennsylvania. The comprehensive design and construction restoration project included general site work, demolition, concrete, masonry, steel and carpentry efforts, as well as renewing the roof, doors, windows, floor and paint facade.

The newly restored 105-bed facility space totaled over 120k square feet and currently accommodates nearly 5,000 youth each year. The construction included modern housing units; multi-purpose/classroom spaces; a large gymnasium and juvenile court; a visitor area and administration offices; an intake sally port; shipping, receiving and storage areas; a medical center control, and segregation housing.

Because of the transformation, YSC can now offer an array of amenities such as residential and support services with housekeeping, laundry, food service, transportation, building maintenance and security, plus a program center with social work, mental health and medical support assistance.
