| With 19 battle stars, the USS Battleship New Jersey is the most decorated battleship in naval history. In January of 2000, the Navy decided to permanently berth the famous vessel in Camden, New Jersey, in tribute to the thousands of Americans who so bravely fought for their country. The ship is now used as a floating museum and memorial on the Delaware River, along the Camden Waterfront. Prior to its arrival, A.P. Construction, Inc. began work to complete general construction on the dock including the construction and completion of the memorial pier and access towers. A.P. worked continuously, even during visitors' hours to complete the north and south towers, elevator enclosures and gangways, giving tour groups safe and easy access to the 887' famous Battleship. Additionally, A.P. installed granite sentinels and pier finishes allowing history to come to life as visitors experience a two-hour guided tour through one of the largest battleships ever built. |
