| PROJECT DESCRIPTION | ||||||||||
| The recently completed DelMonte Refrigerated Warehouse Facility #3 was built to
meet increasing fruit imports into the Broadway Terminal located in Camden, New Jersey.
This Design/Build project included site improvements, foundation piling, structural concrete slab, steel framing, insulated wall and roof panels along with complete electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems to allow for critical climate controlling throughout the building. The structure comprises of 75,000 square feet of space split into partitions allowing for independent climate regulating for the storage of pineapples, strawberries and bananas. This project was completed on a fast-track construction schedule allowing the port to expand operations by January 1, 2005. Del Monte currently imports 500,000 tons of fresh fruit through its Camden facility per year. The newly built refrigeration storehouse will aid the stocking of fruit such as banana's, pineapples and peaches received from South America before it is trucked to stores and markets on the eastern half of the nation. |
